This snowflake design began with the idea that from generation to generation the Hope of our Savior is taught and modeled in homes – like our grandparents who passed along this blessing to us.   And when we thought of grandma, we couldn’t help but be reminded of their crocheted doilies that often were pressed between an end table and the heavy family Bible laying on top of it.  What better way to express true Hope to the next generation?  The center of those fabric and material works of art from prior generations are now captured forever in our porcelain snowflake design of 2012 for future generations.  Its our “hope” that Christ would be taught and embraced in your family, both now and forever!

As with all our Snowflakes, this year’s “Hope” Snowflake for 2012 is designed to celebrate our brief moments together with family and loved ones during the holidays, blessings from above remind us that our time with those nearest to our heart passes as quickly as a snowflake melts in our hands.

This is the ninth (9th) snowflake gift ornament in our annual collection.  After the original art was conceived, sketched, and then drafted, each crochet loop in this design was hand sculpted, one-at-the-time, as was every other detail of this snowflake.  Each piece of porcelain is gently coaxed from one step to another in the hand-crafting process as it gradually takes shape, being refined into its final image over the course of a few days, many loving hands, and a large dose of heat!  

The package has a background geometric repeating pattern faintly below the typographical information unique to all of our snowflake gift ornament designs.  Each package box has a scripture hidden under the front flap . . . a surprise gift to the recipient . . . that says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. - Ephesians 2:8" 

This Snowflake Gift Ornament is titled “Hope”.   The poetry on back of package box  says: "Blessings from above reminding us that our time with those nearest to our heart passes as quickly as a snowflake melts in our hands."    The Scripture on side of package box says "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. - James 1:17"   The Backstamp for this design is "Hope  @2012" .   This snowflake gift ornament measures 4″ diameter and has Item# SF412.   And inside each box is a "missionary card" that extends an invitation to a relationship with God through his Son Jesus Christ with links to further information to help in the journey of faith that begins with an understanding of His great love and our great need.
