As with all our Snowflakes, this year’s “Above” Snowflake for 2015 is designed to celebrate our brief moments together with family and loved ones during the holidays, blessings from above remind us that our time with those nearest to our heart passes as quickly as a snowflake melts in our hands.

After the original art was conceived, sketched, and then drafted, each precision facet in this design was hand sculpted, one-at-the-time, as was every other detail of this snowflake. Each piece of porcelain is gently coaxed from one step to another in the hand-crafting process as it gradually takes shape, being refined into its final image over the course of a few days, many loving hands, and a large dose of heat!

Each snowflake is indeed created as a unique work of art by the Creator. And yet there are similar elements among them that identify them as a snowflake. Radial axis. Filigree edges. And holes.
Just like us.
Created uniquely and as a work of art (in progress). Yet many similarities. Rough edges. And holes. So it is that we praise God for HIs Creation, in every phase, whether forming us in beauty or conforming us to His image in melting tears of sorrow or cascading streams of joy, we pray that you join us and give Him the "glory".

Each ornament comes with a silk ribbon loop which is tied as one of the final steps in our handcrafted process. This Adornment Snowflake Ornament is titled “With Assurance”. The Scripture on the back of the package box says: "The Lord bless you and keep you: The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. - Numbers 6:24-26"". This snowflake design began with the idea that from generation to generation the Hope of our Savior is taught and modeled in homes – like our grandparents who passed along this blessing to us. And when we thought of grandma, we couldn’t help but be reminded of their crocheted doilies that often were pressed between an end table and the heavy family Bible laying on top of it. What better way to express true Hope to the next generation? The center of those fabric and material works of art from prior generations are now captured forever in our porcelain snowflake design of 2012 for future generations. Its our “hope” that Christ would be taught and embraced in your family, both now and forever!

This design's title is "Beauty". The inspiration for this design began as we contemplated the beauty of an ornate stained glass window installed in the East facade of a large cathedral. We wondered if there was a way to create, in white bisque porcelain, this same effect if various brightly colored and shiny Christmas glass ball ornaments were hung behind this design? We think so! And so it is with our lives, as we considered the majesty and beauty of God's Light of the World, Jesus Christ, shining through our relatively plain lives, our prayer was that perhaps we too could demonstrate to any who may happen to gaze upon us, His Beauty.

This design's title is "In Awe". We stand in awe in His presence, surrounded by His love, and enveloped in the love of family and friends. Further, as we contemplated this year's design, we stood in awe of how God answered prayer this past year and in ways unimaginable. His love is overflowing, abounding, generous, personal, and in the presence of God's only Son and the atoning gift of love that He is, how can we not stand In Awe?

This is the sixth (6th) snowflake gift ornament in our annual collection. This is one of our more complex designs with fleur de lis inferior points on the minor axis and a cascading plume to rounded off points on the major axis combining to surround a central star. A bright and shining star. A star that marked the moment and place of our Savior's birth that most special Christmas morning oh so long ago.
This design's title focuses on "Praise". And that "From Above" every good and every perfect gift comes from our Heavenly Father. And as we considered the various elements of this design, our prayer was one of Praise. Praise for the complex tapestry of Scripture which all points to that one special Gift one Christmas morning; our precious Emmanuel, Son of the Living God, Jesus....hallelujah what a Savior! How can we do anything but Praise! Yes, that is our prayer with this design - that we gaze on His beauty and during the holiday season we Praise Jesus.

The annual August Perseid Meteor shower inspired this year's Snowflake design as we watched them falling through the skies, streaks of pure white arrows full of purpose and potential and beauty.
